| Contest's Project Name: |
GoDo - Goods donation system
|
| Contest's Project Description: |
Brazil is a under development country marked by large constrasts between social classes. Basically the
rich and middle classes have better purchasing power while the poor class of people (much of the population) live
in precarious conditions of health, housing and food. Brazil is also a country where there is much waste of
various resources just because of the legislation, burocracy or simply lack of information.
One of these resources is the food: farmers, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and even homes throws tons of food
out while millions go hungry.
The objective of this project is to create means of exchanging information fast, agile, reliable and highly scalable
using OpenSpaces to unite electronically who is willing to donate and who would like to receive this donation.
Use Case:
-- An user inputs into the system a description of the goods for human consumption and its amount, as well
The time that well still be available for donation.
-- The system immediately selects the area or nearby personnals or NGOs who are registered to possibly receive this donation
-- One or more entities are notified by the quantity of goods available
-- If there is the same interest in receiving the donation, the entities will be notified. Some entities will have some priority
for notification. This notification is sent based on a weight-base criteria algorithm.
-- The donor sends a message to the system of donation accomplished. If there are disposal of donation, it must be informed or will be done automatically
by the system when the time expire time of the good is reached.
-- The system keeps statistics on donors and recipients. This statistics can be used by people or company interested in
invest in great donors
* The system supports any type of donation, whether or not of perishable goods.

| The Challenge: |
In Brazilian law, anyone who donates a food is responsible for who receives the donation. If the receiver is sick because of the food consumed, the donor can be processed. Through this system, the donor only indicates his will passing all responsibility to the receiver. The sole responsibility of the donor will be to maintain the goods well conserved.

| Technologies: |
Openspaces, Java SE
|
| Restricted Environments: |
No restriction applies
|
| Target Users Description: |
The user can potentially be all common people
|
| Applicable Scenario/s : |
The openspaces should be installed in a very large cluster so it can handle the multitude of requests . Because the nature of information , the time of each request must be very short ! The data generally will be short-lived but in case of some node failure , the others nodes have to assume all processing immediatally. Many external clients will submit requests to the system all the time so the scalability need.
