Contest's Project Name: Tigris
Contest's Project Description:
An extension to GigaSpaces Testing Grid, enabling it to run on standard development environments.
Testing Grid provides distributed execution of regression test suites from different types of tests (JUnit, .NET tests, functional tests, etc.); and reduces time-execution of test-suites due to its distribution and system-provisioning capabilities. The system works 24 hours a day, with continuous build-server integration, comprehensive reporting, and high utilization of lab machines.
Contest's Project Category: Application
The Challenge: Testing scalability. Reduce dramatically execution time of running test-suite due the parallel distributed execution.
Technologies: Testing Grid build on top of GigaSpaces XAP platform and requires Java. Testing Grid provides a comprehensive API to develop your custom type of tests, like Groovy execution, Reporting capabilities and many others.
Restricted Environments: TestingGrid require Java and can be run on any hardware and with any OS.
Applicable Scenario/s :
Grid agent is running distributed on any OS ( Windows, Unix ), whenever you have more Agents you gain more scalability and high- performance execution. The Agents can run on lab-machines or even on employee laptop, just setup a ScreenSaver to run TGrid Agent and when the laptop is idle, this laptop automatically contributes their resources(CPU,Memory,Disk) for running Tests. By this way the whole Enterprise network can be utilized by TestingGrid. Or another option is to use Amazon EC2 for Enterprises for large scale test-execution.
Exist Already?: There are testing frameworks but not distributed ones.
